Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM Poshan)

A story of Meal and the Children.

Ensuring that children receive nutritious meals is a key part of improving both their education and overall well-being. The Mid-Day Meal Scheme, a flagship program in India, has been designed to enhance school attendance and provide wholesome meals to students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. To further improve the efficiency, quality, and reach of this initiative, CECS
with the support of Education department Government of Nagaland, aims to streamline food preparation and distribution processes for Government Schools in Dimapur.

The primary goal of setting up a centralized kitchen is to ensure the delivery of fresh, nutritious meals to students across targeted schools. This initiative will contribute to achieving important national education policies by ensuring students receive the sustenance they need to focus on their studies.
Furthermore, by establishing the kitchen according to the Revised Guidelines 2017 for Engagement of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, this project aims to meet rigorous standards in food safety, quality, and service efficiency.

The centralized kitchen will serve as a single point of control for the entire mid-day meal operation. The kitchen will streamline processes such as receiving, storage, preparation, delivery, and maintenance. By consolidating these activities, the program can ensure higher food quality and minimize inefficiencies, leading to the optimal use of resources. The establishment of the centralized kitchen not only supports the physical health of the students but also enhances their ability to focus on learning, which can have a
profound impact on their future. This initiative reflects a collaborative effort to address some of the most pressing global challenges, from hunger and education to inequality and sustainable partnerships.

By setting up this kitchen and closely monitoring the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, the program is a testament to the power of focused, well-executed initiatives that can transform lives and uplift communities. It is a step toward ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
