INFORMAL EDUCATION FOR MARGINALIZED CHILDREN (IEMC)

An informal Schooling for marginalized migrant families.

Informal Education for Marginalized Children (IEMC) a non formal learning centre is a project implemented by CECS and supported by WIPRO Cares, the project is dedicated to prevent vulnerable and marginalized children from exploitation and guiding them toward formal education. Since its inception in 2015 until the 2023 phase, the project has successfully enrolled 5967 children across various centers, with 1762 children mainstreamed into both government and private schools. IEMC centers have been instrumental in transforming the lives of children under the age of 14 who are at risk—whether they are child laborers, dropouts or have never been enrolled in school.

The IEMC project is focused on creating a nurturing and interactive learning environment that fosters the development of essential life skills and positive attitudes. It empowers children to adopt healthy behaviors, ensuring that they are not only integrated into the formal education system but are also able to enjoy their childhood, just like other children.

The mission of the project is rooted in the belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, eserves access to education and the chance to experience a happy and healthy childhood. To achieve his, IEMC centers provides educational support, psychosocial care and lessons in health, hygiene, and hild rights. By advocating for child welfare, building capacity and offering critical services, IEMC aims to estore the childhood these children deserve, helping them celebrate the fullness of life.
Through its comprehensive approach, the IEMC project strives to mainstream vulnerable children into chools while addressing their physical, emotional, and educational needs. This program continues to ave a lasting, positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged children, ensuring they are not left behind.
